Who we are and how we keep the rankings honest.
Engagement Ring Reviews exists to answer one question well: where should you actually buy a diamond or an engagement ring, and what should it cost?
Most “best places to buy” articles online are written by affiliates who rank whichever retailer pays the highest commission, or by content farms that have never priced a stone. We do it differently. Our team prices the same certified diamonds at the major online retailers on the same day, read every return and warranty policy line by line, and score each retailer on five published criteria with fixed weights.
Our standards
**Every retailer we cover is scored on exactly the same published criteria.** No retailer gets a free pass, and every score is shown, not hidden.Here is how we hold every ranking to that bar:
- Every retailer is scored on exactly the same criteria, with the same weights, using the same price basket.
- Our price basket and ranges are published as open data at /data/ so anyone can check them.
- We only compare retailers we have actually priced. We do not publish “reviews” of retailers we have not tested.
- Where a competitor does something better, whether a longer return window, a stronger showroom network or a particular imaging feature, we say so in the article.
- Corrections are logged publicly on our corrections page.

Every article is written or reviewed by an experienced diamond shopper and edited by a named editor. See our editorial team.
Editorial process
Every published article is reviewed, fact-checked against our verified data set, and approved by a named editor before publication. Dollar figures in any article can only come from our verified price data; the publishing system rejects anything else.
